GUEST SPEAKERS: Research Scientist David Boe, Eric Rombokas, and the team from ROMBOLABS.
What happens to your brain and body when you put on a VR headset? Can you truly feel embodied in a virtual body? Seattle based Rombolab’s team of engineers and neuroscientists have studied these very questions. Join us for an evening of discussion as we delve into the inner workings of the human brain and learn how VR can transform the way we think about ourselves and others.
Rombolabs is pushing the limits of VR to develop treatments for people with traumatic injuries such as loss of limb. Their research team is building smarter controllers and sensory feedback for prosthetic limbs, performing basic research in neural control of movement, how the brain creates a sense of ownership of the body, and more!
Rotary VR Universe is a weekly virtual reality (VR) gathering of Rotarians and those interested in communicating with people of action. Once a month, we also highlight a guest presentation in our Speaker Series.
Rotary Universe is a place to share ideas about the future of volunteerism and service above self. What works for your organization? Do you have an area of expertise that others may find interesting? Would you like to learn more about becoming a Rotarian?
ALL ARE WELCOME!
Hosted by the Silverdale Rotary Club in Washington State, USA.
